im not sure what to do. since my lease with my rabbit is over, my plan was to purchase the car. vw credit asked me if i would be purchasing the car here in virginia or back in california. since i'm currently in virginia and i do not think i will be bring my car back to california - my response was virginia. my thoughts where that when i moved back to california i would get a new car.
but anyways, since my car is going to be purchased here in virginia, i needed virginia insurance. this is when the sad news came. in order to get virginia insurance, i need to get virginia license plates and registration. since my car and registration will be under my name, i would need to get a virginia drivers license. therefore, i would need to surrender my california drivers license.
but the thing is, i'm not even sure how long i plan on staying in virginia. what if i decided to come home permanently in a year or two. then i'm stuck with a virginia drivers license. then i have to go back to dmv and switch over again. or perhaps its because if i do switch over - i'm saying goodbye.
